In March, 1984, Motor Works began serving the DeKalb and Northern Illinois public. We are a one-stop-shop offering every conceivable automotive amenity. A critical part of that commitment is Acura service and repair. Towards that end, we have three ASE Master Certified Specialists on staff.

The First Japanese Luxury Car Brand
In 1987 Honda launched Acura as the first Japanese luxury car brand. It didn’t take long before the Legend and Integra started to show up for service at Motor Works. Wow, were these new cars impressive. The Legend was smooth, quiet, powerful and tastefully appointed. It won a place on Car and Driver Magazine’s Ten Best Cars List three years in a row, and Motor Trend’s Import Car of the Year in 1987. The smaller Integra was a sports car with remarkable handling and performance. Car and Driver Magazine named it to their annual Ten Best Cars List six times.

Growth
Acura grew, with new, increasingly refined models. They added larger luxury sedans, hard edged sports cars like the midengine NSX, and two SUV’s. We made a major commitment in training and tooling to service and repair these cars properly. Staff technicians go to school constantly to stay current with the brand’s continual changes. Our dedication includes thousands of dollars of unique tooling and computer scanners. Motor Works is determined to be the Dealership Alternative!
